Division 01

Tattoos

Signature pieces, worked as a commission. Line, composition and permanence are resolved without rushing.

The commission

From “getting a tattoo” to “commissioning a piece”

A tattoo at NARA is talked through before it is drawn. The session is scheduled for the time the composition needs. The care continues after you leave the atelier. The steps, the scope, the deposit and the calendar are on the commission.

Duration
Varies with size and detail. Set at the consultation.
Materials
Single-use needles and ink, full traceability per session.
Aftercare
Written care guide and WhatsApp follow-up through healing. The full detail is on aftercare.

The hand

One hand, from start to finish.

There is no artist rotation at NARA, and no flash catalog. The same person talks the idea through, draws the line and executes it, from the first consultation to the last dot. That continuity makes the finished piece look like what was discussed.

A piece has to still read well in ten years. That gets assessed before commissioning. At the consultation we look at where the piece sits, how much detail that area can hold, and how the line behaves once the skin changes. If the design you bring doesn't clear that test, you hear it there and another route is proposed.

Hygiene and trust

The rigor behind every line

Single-use materials

Disposable needles, ink and surfaces at every session. No exceptions.

Room protocol

Surfaces disinfected and the station set up from scratch before every piece.

Traceability

Every supply is logged per session.

Cover-up

Covering an old piece, done right

Not everything covers the same way. A small piece, fine black line, not saturated, leaves more room than a large, dense or colored one. The new design has to be darker and bigger than what it covers. That decides what can be drawn over it.

What we look at first

A clear photo of the piece, natural light, no flash. That decides whether it's worth continuing the conversation.

What gets talked through next

Density, color and size of the original against the reference you bring. That's where what's realistic gets said, and what isn't.

What doesn't get promised

No cover-up gets approved over a message. If the piece can't be fully covered, that's said before booking.
